
Musical Career & Experience
Early Studies & Education:
- Began playing guitar at 17, studying classical guitar privately, focusing on Sor, Carulli, Carcassi, and Aguado.
- Earned a solfeggio diploma from the “Morlacchi” Conservatory in Perugia (1980).
- Developed a strong interest in jazz music and enrolled at the Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio in Rome (1981), where he studied jazz guitar, improvisation techniques, and arrangement for three years.
Masterclasses & Influences:
- Attended masterclasses with renowned jazz guitarists, including Joe Diorio, Mike Stern, Mick Goodrick, and John Scofield.
Performance & Recording Career
Live & Studio Collaborations:
- Performed extensively in jazz, blues, pop, and fusion settings, both live and in studio recordings.
- Played in clubs across Rome, other Italian cities, and internationally in Paris, London, Amsterdam, Innsbruck, and Stuttgart.
Jazz Discography:
- 1996 – Released the album “Potus” with the Jazz Noise Quartet, produced by Minstrel and later reissued by Open Sound Music Library (2015).
- 2003 – Released a self-produced album, “Beyond The Window”.
- 2011 – Released an album with Emirframe Trio.
- Additional jazz recordings include collaborations with the O.S.M. Big Band, directed by Gaetano Zocconali and recorded for BMG Ariola (ex-RCA), as well as a project with Mauro Andreoni’s “Bon Voyage” orchestra.
Pop & Blues Career:
- Worked on numerous pop recordings, both acoustic and electric.
- Collaborated with Sal Genovese’s Big Band, performing on RAI TV shows such as “Buongiorno in Famiglia” and “Uno Mattina”.
- 2006-2007 – Toured with Franco Califano, playing across Italy and appearing in a live broadcast on RAI International (Saxa Rubra).
- 2009 – Co-founded “The Mojo Rising Blues Band”, a Chicago Blues band with Gianni Zorzi (vocals & harmonica). The band was active until 2013, performing extensively.
- 1997-2001 – Played with the Argentine Tango band “Proyecto Tango”, focusing on Astor Piazzolla’s repertoire, achieving strong national recognition.
- 2001-2013 – Member of the Boom Boom Jive Orchestra, a 12-piece swing & jive band performing music by Fred Buscaglione, Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra, and Bill Haley’s rock ‘n’ roll classics.
Current Activities in Merano & Trentino-Alto Adige
- Moved to Merano six years ago, joining the Merano Pop/Symphony Orchestra, directed by Roberto Federico.
- Performed in the Kurhaus Concerts (Merano, BZ), accompanying:
- 2015 – Silvia Mezzanotte (Matia Bazar).
- 2016 – Annalisa Minetti.
- 2017 – Dodi Battaglia (Pooh).
- 2018 – Audio2.
- Collaborated with local musicians in Trentino-Alto Adige, including Gigi Grata, Stefano Colpi, Giada Bucci, Claudio Ischia, Roberto Dellantonio, Rino Cavalli, Michela Marinello, Andrea Gallesi, Livia Bertagnoli, Rolando Biscuola, and more.
- Works as a guitar teacher at Ass. Culturale “Tangram” in Merano.
- Collaborates with Istituto Vivaldi in Bolzano, delivering educational concerts and workshops for elementary schools.
Composition & Artistic Vision
- A prolific composer, with around 40 original works to his name.
- Continues to explore jazz, blues, Latin, and fusion styles, maintaining an active presence in the live and recording scene.
